49 Steps Mallorca
Rooftop Bar & Lounge –
A Beacon Above the Bay
Perched atop the Moll Vell marina in Palma de Mallorca, 49 Steps fuses industrial, maritime aesthetics with the sophistication of a high-end rooftop experience. Inspired by the utilitarian graphics of cruise ships, oil tankers, and dockyard safety signage, the branding and design language reflect the venue’s seafaring spirit while elevating its modern hospitality appeal.
At the heart of the concept lies a visual identity inspired by nautical flags—translating maritime communication into a bold, contemporary brand language. The lettermark signage, fabricated in high-polished chrome, creates a lighthouse effect, reflecting sunlight from various angles throughout the day and guiding attention like a beacon across the marina.
Wayfinding is seamlessly integrated into the guest journey. Custom nautical flags, featuring abstracted icons of cocktails, seafood, and music, were strategically placed throughout the marina, subtly leading guests up the 49 steps to the rooftop bar. This cryptic yet engaging visual storytelling approach turns discovery into part of the brand experience.
Inside, porthole-inspired infinity mirrors, a bar that mimics a ship’s control deck, and industrial details balance rugged maritime influence with sleek modernity. The space captures Mallorca’s laid-back yet sophisticated coastal vibe, making it a destination that feels both immersive and effortlessly iconic.
